Doctor Dolittle likes animals. in fact, he likes them so much he fills his house with every kind of creature imaginable. And then one day, he figures out how to speak their language.

Tethered Wits brings this beloved story of the extraordinary animal doctor to life using stunning puppetry.

 

This fun show makes for the paw-fect day out for all the family.

This hour-long production is ideal for children ages 3+

GABRIELLA SILLS

Director / Producer

Gabriella is a producer who specialises in work created in alternative theatre spaces and has recently been awarded a prestigious Stage One Bursary. She is a Director of Tethered Wits which focuses on outdoor touring productions and works extensively with the Offie Award winning Saltire Sky Theatre, having won Best Scottish Production at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe with the immersive-rave show Bits ‘N’ Pieces. She is proud to have presented work at Leicester Curve Studios, Theatre 503, The Cockpit and amphitheatres across the country. Gabriella has worked as a Management Team Coordinator at the National Student Drama Festival and completed placements with ATG theatres (Piccadilly Theatre) and Theatre Royal Bath. She is also currently working in theatre marketing on Olivier Award nominated shows such as SIX, The Play That Goes Wrong, and The Tiger Who Came to Tea

ASHOK GUPTA

Composer

Ashok is an accomplished recialist, performing in major music centres including Wigmore Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Holywell Music Room, Bonn Beethoven-Haus and festivals including Glyndebourne, Oxford Lieder, Leeds Lieder, Buxton and Cheltenham. Described by the Times as “a thoughtful and sensitive pianist”, he was prize winner at the 2016 Ferrier Awards, the 2017 Bonn Beethoven Competition and the 2018 Royal Overseas League Competition. Ashok is in increasing demand as a conductor, this year assisting on Garsington Festival Opera's Il Barbiere di Siviglia and The Royal Danish Opera's La Clemenza di Tito. His arrangements for Jasdeep Degun and Cameron Shahbazi have been recorded by OperaVision and Deutsche Grammophon. This is Ashok's first theatre music credit since 2009 when he wrote incidental music for a production of Death of a Salesman at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge.

AMY PORTER

Creative Director

Amy has a keen interest in both theatre and music and has performed in venues such as: The Royal Albert Hall, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Gala Theatre, the Bacon Theatre, and The Playhouse Theatre, Cheltenham. She was honoured to sing with the award-winning and internationally renowned chamber choir Tenebrae in Perth, Scotland, under the direction of Nigel Short. Subsequently, she was delighted to join Tenebrae again, this time on tour to Germany, where she performed in three concerts in Bremen Cathedral. Stage credits include: Kate Keller (All My Sons), Ophelia (Hamlet), Sonia (Uncle Vanya), Elvira (Blithe Spirit), Helen (The Last Days of Troy), Cecily (The Importance of Being Earnest), Bianca (Taming of the Shrew), Olivia (Twelfth Night), Titania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Alison (Look Back in Anger), Kathy (Singin’ in the Rain), Tracy Lord (High Society) and Cathy (The Last Five Years). Amy graduated from Durham University with a First Class Degree in Music, where she held a Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for the Arts. Durham Alumni, in 2019.

ELEANOR DICKENS

Designer / Puppet Director

Eleanor studied Theatre and Performance at Guildford School of Acting, graduating in 2019, but spent most of her time designing sets for the Musical Theatre Society and gigging with Surrey Stage Crew. She went on to work at Monkton Combe School as their Stage Manager, Dramaturg and Scenographer and currently works on the Chaplaincy Team at Dean Close. Eleanor is delighted to be working with Tethered Wits again this summer! Shows as a Designer include: Godspell, A Christmas Carol, Bring It On, Alice, Anything Goes, Legally Blonde, Steel Pier, Animal Farm, Pippin. Crew Roles include: Stage Manager for Strictly Come Surrey 2017, Show Caller for Strictly Come Surrey 2019, Visuals for Disciples and Scouting For Girls
